Betty Catherine Campbell

Betty Catherine Woody Campbell, age 78, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Betty was born in Cleveland, Tennessee, to the late Bill and ErnaLee Woody. She was employed by The American Legion Post 81 in Cleveland, TN, for more than 28 years. She enjoyed all of her customers there and thought of them as family. She had many fond stories and memories to tell from her time there.

Betty was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers and attending craft shows. Her greatest joy was the time she spent surrounded by those she loved. She will be remembered for her love of family and the special memories she leaves behind.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and ErnaLee Woody; son, Jamie Newman Campbell; brothers, Dewey Vernon Woody Sr. and Kenneth Woody; sisters, Patricia Woody Dunn and Sylvia Woody Swetman, all of Cleveland; and nephew, Michael Ray Woody, also of Cleveland.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Kirk Campbell, and daughter-in-law, Angela Campbell; brother, Billy Don Woody (Phyllis) of Riceville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Gabe Campbell of Cleveland, Tennessee, Addie Campbell Berthiaume (Sam) of Minot, North Dakota, Ciara Hoskins of Lapeer, Michigan, and Savannah Campbell of Southgate, Michigan; and great-grandson, Knox Downey of Lapeer, Michigan.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Doris Woody Rumba and Joann Woody of Cleveland; nephews, Dewey Vernon Woody Jr. (Melissa), Jimmy Don Woody, Billy Swetman (Susie), Wallace Dunn, and Michael Dunn, all of Cleveland, Daniel Woody of Riceville, and Chris Woody of Etowah; nieces, Bridget Woody, Lisa Sutton (Billy), Kelly Harden, and Angel Cross, all of Cleveland, and Michelle Woody of Riceville; along with several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other beloved family members.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A funeral service will follow visitation on Tuesday evening.

A graveside service and burial will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Cleveland.
