Bernice Wright

Bernice Wright, 84 of Birchwood, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Birchwood, spending her time enjoying her family and friends. Bernice was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The daily care she provided for her mother was second to none. Her passions included spending time with her grand and great grandchildren, growing various flowers, writing bible verses on Facebook and her many animals. Bernice started her career working in the pharmacy at Erlanger Hospital. Upon the birth of her first child, she decided to remain a full-time mother. In the 1970's with her husband they ran Cartwright's Supermarket for 10 years. Later in life she enjoyed raising 100's of baby calves and working as an Avon sales consultant until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents William "Bill" and Stella Suttles, brothers Gene, Ray and Robert Wilson, Jimmy Suttles, sister Marie Swafford and granddaughter Jenny Lee Wright.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Jackie, sons David (Judy) Wright, Danny (Kristy) Wright, brothers Bud (Brenda) Suttles, Phillip (Elsie) Suttles, Billy (Deborah) Suttles, sister Bess (Kenneth) Robinson, granddaughters Brittni (Jeremiah) Pierce, Hannah (Isaiah) Kaley, Sarah (Ricky) Webb, and grandson Andrew (Kalynn) Dopel. Several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 4:30pm to 8:30pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and 1:00pm -2:00pm on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service Cleveland Chapel located at 2412 Georgetown Rd NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Interment will follow at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood.
