Barbara Jean Rice

Barbara Jean Maxwell Rice, 88, of Cleveland, TN passed away on May 9, 2026.

She was born on April 13, 1938 to the late George and Ethel Bettis Maxwell.

In addition to her mother and father she is preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Rice, Sr., brother William Jack Maxwell, sister Patricia Ann Maxwell Messer; sons Paul E. Rice Jr. and Anthony Brian Rice.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother Douglas Van Maxwell; grandchildren: William Rice (Shannon) , Benjamin Rice, B.J. Rice, Kristie Rice; great grandchildren: A.J. Rice, Zakkary Byrd, and Nora Rice. She also leaves behind a special "Daughter in Love" Lori Boring and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Barbara's family will receive friends in the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home from 12pm until 1pm on Saturday May 16th with a funeral service to follow at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the service.
