Barbara "Sue" Goodner Johnson

Barbara "Sue" Goodner Johnson, 84, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Sue was born on December 31, 1940 in Birchwood, Tennessee. Sue was the youngest child of Robert and Mattie Collins Goodner of Birchwood, TN.

Sue was preceded in death by her brothers Leo, Johnny, Robert "Buck", and Willie "Boots" Goodner, and her sisters, Betty Burdette, Robbie Cartwright, Dorothy Everett. Sue was also preceded in death by several beloved nieces and nephews.

Sue was one of the oldest members of Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Cleveland where she faithfully attended until her passing.

Sue was a homemaker for 30 years to former husband Jack, while also supporting him as a bookkeeper at their business, Jack Johnson Motors and their children Lisa and Jack Jr. She began her career at the age of 55 at Bradley Memorial Hospital, retiring at age 81.

In addition to her children, Lisa and Jack Jr, she is also survived by her two grandchildren, Shelby and Jaxon Johnson, and their mother, Stephanie Johnson. Sue is also survived by several very special nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life Service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary with Reverend Nolan Rumble officiating. The family will be receiving friend from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm prior to the service.
