Barbara S. Brown

Barbara S. Brown, age 83, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 9, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on December 7, 1942, Barbara was born and raised in Cleveland and spent her life devoted to her family, friends, and community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Brown; her parents, Samuel and Susie Wilhoite; her sister, Patsy Robison Eaton; and her brother, Willard "Speedy" Wilhoite.

Barbara is survived by her children, Pamela (Harry) Wilson, Gina (Terry) Floyd, and Sammy (Missy) Brown; grandchildren Ashley Bullington (Micah), Blake Bullington (Whitney), Justin Bullington, Ashley Pappendick (Erich), Cory Wilson (Ashley), Brittney Anderson (Travis), Brad Floyd, Amy Mohn, April Griffey (Chris), and Cody Brown; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews, along with her special sister-in-law, Nancy Brown.

Barbara was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was lovingly known throughout the community as "Mamaw Brown" because of the care and love she showed to children over the years. She spent much of her life babysitting and caring for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many family friends' children.

She loved attending her children's, grandchildren's, and great-grandchildren's sporting events and rarely missed a ballgame. Barbara also enjoyed flowers, cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, and especially fishing with her husband and family.

Barbara and Doyle were active members of the Shrine and Eastern Star and treasured the friendships they shared through their Red Fez Shrine Club family. She also enjoyed spending summers and making memories with family and friends at their cabin on Possum Creek.

Above all else, Barbara dearly loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Ridge Sanctuary of Companion Funeral Home with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Lebanon (Laurel Hill) Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons: Kole Howard, Kase Howard, Karter Howard, Jackson Bullington, Brady Anderson, and River Griffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryder Bullington, Kaighon Floyd, Callum Griffey, and Holden Wilson.
