Arrants Ray Kennedy, 92, passed away on June 11, 2026.

Arrants served his country honorably during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked with his dad who owned The Stockyard. He later worked 39 years for Bowater Corporation, retiring in 2000. After retirement, he assisted the McMinn County Election Commission with early voting until 2020. He enjoyed many years of membership at the Green Cove Lodge in Tellico Plains. Arrants was also a member of the Athens Christian Church.

Preceded in death by parents, Clifford Jay and Sarah Lou Kennedy; granddaughter, Kim Edwards; and siblings, Nadean Cunningham and Vearl Kennedy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ann Kennedy; son, Rocky (Sharon) Kennedy; daughters, Elizabeth (James) Edgmon, and Mitzi (Walter) Womac; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and many other loved family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11:00am at McMinn Memory Gardens with Richard White and Jeff Cunningham officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Edwards, Jacob Kennedy, Keith Edwards, Andrew Womac, Easton Kennedy, Eli Campbell, and Brantley West.

Arrants' legacy of faith, service, and devotion to family will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
