Ann Laverne Griffis, 76, of Madisonville, Tennessee, peacefully went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 8, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her three children. 

Born on May 8, 1950, in Hushpuckena, Mississippi, Ann began her professional career after graduating from high school and spent much of her working life in management with Cato Clothing. While she took great pride in her work, her greatest calling and deepest joy was her family. 

Ann’s life was marked by an unwavering love for her three children. She was an intentional mother who invested her time, encouragement, and steadfast support in each of them, faithfully walking beside them through every season of life. Some of her family’s sweetest memories were made gathered around the table and Ann’s unmistakable expressions “Mmm-hmm” of delight over a good meal made even ordinary moments feel special.

 Nothing brought Ann greater happiness than watching her family grow beyond what she could have imagined. The love she poured into her children overflowed to her grandchildren, and great-grand children all of whom lovingly knew her as Mamaw or Mimi. Being together with her family was her favorite place to be, especially during the holidays. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she celebrated it with a childlike joy, a sense of surprises in her spontaneous gifts made the season unforgettable for those she loved. 

Ann is survived by her 3 Children, Felicia (Ray) Steen, Stevie (Stephanie) Weaver, Wendy (Jeff), Wheeler,10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, and 7 brothers and sisters. 

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church, 244 Mason Road, Madisonville, TN. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
