Anita Claire Oliver, 80 of Rockwood, passed away on May 22nd, 2026. She was a resident of the area for 18 years.

Anita was a woman of formidable intellect and fierce independence. She was beyond capable...extremely brilliant. Some of Anita's hobbies and passions in life were quilting...she dedicated countless hours to crafting many Quilts of Valor and created special heirlooms for family and friends. She poured her heart into sewing and won many awards for her intricate cross- stitching. She enjoyed gardening and yard work, loved birdwatching (especially hummingbirds and cardinals). Anita loved being on the water - she loved sitting on the back deck overlooking the lake. She also liked staying physically fit, scuba diving, traveling all over this country and overseas to England and Ireland.

Anita loved to entertain with friends and family. She loved to decorate for the holidays, and Christmas was her favorite. She cooked generous meals and loved to bake her famous holiday cookies. Anita had a vibrant personality and welcoming heart. She made friends wherever she went (like a magnet) and leaves behind a community of people who adored her. She loved "girls' day" out and being a fashionista. Classy and a little bit sassy. Anita always made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Anita was preceded in death by her father Charles Oliver, her mother Jessie Oliver (Cook) and her oldest son Charles Martin Moore "Marty".

Anita leaves behind her devoted husband Don Gray of almost 35 years, her daughter Evelyn Dawn Royer, and her youngest son Sean Oliver Moore; sister Juanita Greene; grandson Ace Pardee; nieces: Lucie Ann Smolucha and Ginger Rogers. Longtime friends Jean and Bob Mashburn and Sharon Prewett.

Anita was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother "Mama-Nita" and will remain forever in our hearts.

The service for Anita will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on June 6th at 1pm, 190 Circle Drive Harriman, TN 37748
