Amanda Nichole Black

Amanda Nichole Black, age 40, passed away on May 4, 2026.

Amanda was a loving daughter with a bright mind and a kind heart. She was very intelligent and deeply gifted in music, finding joy in playing the guitar and drums. Her passion for learning led her to graduate from Lee University, and she furthered her education by earning a Master's degree from Princeton University Theological Seminary

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Dorothy Freeman and Ollie Black; grandfathers, Carl Josh Freeman and John Black; aunts, Elizabeth Harvell, Martha Callahan, and Carolyn Thomason; and uncle, Wilburn Black.

Amanda is survived by her loving parents, Evelyn "Sunny" Black and Tony Black; her fiancé, Tony Brewer; her sister, Breanna Schiavo; uncles, Rickey (Glenda) Black, Carl (Lorri) Freeman Jr., and Earl (Lori) Freeman; a host of extended family members; and special friends, Fawn, Sarah, and Sissy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, located at 2412 Georgetown Rd. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Steven Miller officiating.
