Alvin "Buddy" Motes

Alvin Elmer "Buddy" Motes, 89, of Ooltewah, TN passed away on December 1, 2025. He was born on May 5, 1936 to the late Alvin Emery Motes and Alice Marie Phillips Motes. Those who knew Alvin knew of his love for Horses. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joann Motes; siblings: Tom Motes, Jackie Motes, Mack Motes, and Connie Sue Reynolds.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Kathy Hall (John) and Ricky Motes (Betty Jo); grandchildren: Travis Hall (Taylor), Kyle Motes, and Briana Berkenbile (Brodie); and two great grandsons Thatcher and Braxton.

Alvin's family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm on Saturday December 6th at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1pm. He will be laid to rest following the service at Rock Spring Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL.
