Allan "Bagdad" Dawson

Allan "Bagdad" Dale Dawson, age 71, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on July 25, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, faith, and generosity.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Dawson. He is survived by his loving wife, Janis Dawson; sons Allan (Charity) Dawson, William (Amber) Dawson, and Westen (Stephanie) Dawson; grandchildren Chase, Kane, Wilder, Della, and Brooklyn Dawson; foster grandchildren Rose and Serenity; his mother, Evelyn Dawson; and his brother Don (Catherine) Dawson.

Allan held a Bachelor of Theology from the Gospel School of the Bible and lived a life rooted in faith. He loved singing in the choir and had a deep appreciation for bluegrass music. A man of many interests, Allan enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, blacksmithing, thrifting, and operating his bobcat and excavator. Whether working with his hands or spending time in nature, Allan found joy in creating, exploring, and sharing those moments with others.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Ridge Chapel at Companion Funeral Home. The service celebrating Allan's life will follow, officiated by Rev. Sammy Hooker.
