Alice Levetta Collins, age 86, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on May 31, 1939, to John Henry and Nina May Poisel, Alice lived a life filled with kindness, faith, and service to others.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Poisel; mother, Nina May Poisel; husband, Jim Collins; former husband and father of her children, Howard Ulmer; sister, Velma Gilroy (Pat); brothers, John Poisel (Evelyn), Charlie Poisel, and Ray Poisel; brother-in-law, John Gilroy; nephews, Dave Gilroy, Pat Gilroy, and Joe Poisel; and nieces, Carol Schafer, Kathy Dean, and Mercedes Gilroy.
Alice is survived by her sons, Jonathon Ulmer (Julie) and Donald Ulmer (Jennifer); daughter, Beverly Gibby; sisters, Delma Gilroy and Pearl Briggs (Jim); brother, Ivan Poisel (Cynthia); and sister-in-law, Peg Poisel. She was a proud grandmother to Josh Ulmer, Ryan Ulmer, Jordan Ulmer, Mickey Gibby, Joe Gibby, Elijiah Smith, and CJ Ulmer; and granddaughters Amber Skaggs, Beth Rivera, Delilah Smith, Kadeeja Patterson, and Sarah Camatcho. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Alice had a gentle spirit and a heart for helping others. She enjoyed crocheting and making prayer quilts, often giving them as gifts of comfort and love. A faithful member of Quinault Valley Church, she volunteered at the food bank and offered rides to friends and fellow church members who needed help getting to appointments or running errands. She found joy in serving others and always appreciated the simple beauty of nature.
Alice will be remembered for her generosity, her faith, and her unwavering kindness. Her life was a reflection of love and service, and her legacy will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
