Alex Compton

Alex Compton, 67 of Decatur, met Jesus, September 21, 2019. He was a faithful son, husband, daddy, papa and friend. He graduated from Brainerd High School, 1971; Florida Baptist College, 1981; and Southwestern Baptist Seminary, 1987. He ministered to everyone he met, dedicating his life to his family and serving others.
He was preceded by his father Jesse Ervin Compton, brother Crawford Compton, nephew Myles Compton. Survived by his precious mother, Rachel Tittle Compton of Chattanooga, his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda Hudson Compton. Daughters Aaron Puente and Anna Compton. Son and wife, Matthew and Patricia Compton. Adopted daughter Amy West, friend Michael Letsinger.
Five granddaughters Rachel Heath and husband Jacob, Azia and Kela Compton, Rosa Puente and Gracie West. Great grandson, Charles Heath.
Sister Regina Jones. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Teresa Compton, Jesse and Cheryl Compton, Kathy Jorgensen. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Charlotte and Jeff Hyde, Ronald and Teena, Ricky and Ann Hudson. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life service, Bethel Springs Baptist Church, 204 County Road 42, Calhoun, TN, Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 5:30 with visitation at 4:00 pm. Followed by a dinner.
